A VALENTINE FOR MY TEACHER
My teacher's very special
So I'm making her a heart -
A valentine that's sure to be
A proper work of art.
I've worked on it all morning
So it should be ready soon.
I'd like to slip it on her desk
Before this afternoon.
It's colored in with crayons
And it's trimmed with paper lace,
It has flowers, hearts and Cupids -
I can't wait to see her face.
OUR VALENTINE CARDS
Studying English students get acquainted with the culture of Great Britain, its festivals, traditions and customs. The best way to do this is to follow these traditions. One of the most favourite festivals is St. Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February, 14.
So before Valentine's Day we always speak about the history of this holiday, learn some new words, do some interesting tasks, and of course I offer my students to make Valentine cards and learn traditional Valentine verses so they could congratulate all the people they love. If you like the idea, you should do the following.
1. Cut out a lot of hearts from red, pink, blue or other construction paper.
2. Make an animal, a dove or a flower by gluing various sizes and shapes of paper hearts together.
3. Write a traditional Valentine verse.
